Mr. President, It Is Time to Get Back to Work: Top Issues on The To-Do List

//JW's Desknote: Well done Mr. President! The people have spoken and have entrusted you to take us for another four years. Since you have control of both houses of Congress, and votes from 51% of the voting population, and a Dick Cheney mandate declaration, I have a few things that, if you don't mind, need some attention:

1) Fix Social Security. We have to suck it up now and let the younger folks start phasing in the 401k aspect of Social Security. If you don't start now, none of us will have anything left by the time we retire.
2) Demolish the IRS and do away with income, capital gains, and estate taxes. You have two choices as I see it: a Flat-tax or a national sales tax. Just pick one, either one is better than the present system. But, since you are asking, I pick the national sales tax.
3) Resolve the Israel-Palestinian conflict. Middle-East peace rests squarely on this issue. Will it stop terrorism? No, but it will greatly mitigate the risk.
4) Pick up the phone and call the Vlad-man. He has terrorist problems and we have terrorist problems. Funny both were trained by that Bin Laden guy. But when you call him, be sure and tell Putin that there will be no retreating back into the USSR days of government. No matter how bad the terrorist situation gets. Hang tough!
5) Tell Kofi-baby that it's time to go. Or this whole oil-for-food thing is gonna get much, much worse for him. Tell him this is personal.
6) Tell, yes tell them since we own them, the U.N. that it is time for an American to run the U.N. Oh, and not Bill Clinton.
7) And while we are on the U.N., it is time for the U.N. to take full control of Haiti and re-build that country. Not just as peacekeepers, but actual country builders. I figure the U.N. could start small and work up to the Sudan.
8) Get the energy policy on the table for some frank discussion. We need to look alternate means. I remember the hydrogen speech, but where are we, really?
9) Send Chief Justice Rehnquist some flowers, thank him for his service, and ask him for the good of the country to step down now. We cannot have the Chief Justice this sick and still working. Avoid going to the right when selecting a new Chief Justice.
10) Don't do the intelligence reform without some real discussion. We do not need a director of national intelligence that has no budgetary authority. That's called a figure-head. And oh, by the way, 9-11 was NOT an intelligence failure, but a failure of our national system.

I figure I will stop at ten because the MSM probably can't count much higher; I mean there is so much more, but the President and his 'mandate' elected Congress can start with my A-list. Ok, everybody back to work. And this means you too, Senator Kerry. Yes, you actually have to show up now.//JW sends.
