The Bush Economy: Just The Facts, Ma'am.
James K. Glassman spells out the truth of the Bush economy. Here are the quick facts:
- Unemployment rate lower than the average of the past three decades.
- Household wealth soare to new records
- 69% of Americans own their own home, the highest proportion ever (report does not mention that minority ownership is at an all time high as well)
- Gross Domestic Prodcut, GDP, the nation's total economic output, grew nearly 5 percent for the year. That's greater than in any 12-month period during the Clinton administration.
- Personal income is up 5 percent in the past year, and business spending is strong. - Inflation is tame, and interest rates are low.
- Compare the United States with Kerry's paragons abroad. Unemployment in France is 9.9 percent; in Germany, 10.6 percent.
//JW Desknote: I sincerely hope these and other points are hit on during Friday's debate. With the Jobs report due the same day, and expected to rise, Kerry will have little to shout about. Even the outsourcing argument is weak as job losses rarely, about 1%, ever transferred into job outsourcing....article is a good read...More to follow//JW sends.
